Implementation of AVEVA PI System
The main objective of the service is to install and configure a new AVEVA PI System™ infrastructure, including PI Interfaces, PI Data Archive, PI Asset Framework, PI Analytics, PI Notifications, and PI Vision.

The implementation is carried out remotely or at the client’s site by a PIPER Solutions engineer certified by OSIsoft® as a specialist in AVEVA PI System infrastructure and implementation, following AVEVA recommendations and PIPER best practices.

The AVEVA PI System™ Infrastructure Accreditation recognizes partners that have a solid understanding of both the current business messaging around the AVEVA PI System infrastructure as well as a strong baseline technical knowledge of the full suite of AVEVA PI System™ products. Partners must have experience working on projects where the AVEVA PI System™ was used as part of the solution and must be able to describe the business impact of the implemented solution.

Scopes of the Implementation service
Scope
PIPER helps its clients in gathering requirements for the areas where the PI System will be implemented, as well as the communication options with the control systems SCADA, PLC, DCS, Database, Manual data and estimation of tags and reports.
Hardware and Software
According to the scope PIPER Performs an implementation architecture and an estimate of the hardware and software requirements for each of the components of the PI SYStem infrastructure.
A PIPER specialist will confirm that the requirements are met during the preparation stage. Therefore, the hardware and its operating system must be installed before starting the service.
Implementation
We configure PI Data Archive according to OSIsoft best practices, including security, automatic file creation, tuning parameters, backups, and configuring a set of monitoring tags to track PI Data Archive server performance. The service includes standalone or highly available PI Data Archive installation (PI Collective).
We configure PI AF and PI Notifications following OSIsoft good practices. This includes configuring AF SQL database backup (when SQL Server is installed locally on the AF server machine) and configuring and testing PI Notifications.
We install, configure and test PI interfaces and connectors to validate communication with the data source. We also perform temporary storage buffer configuration and failover of PI Interface or PI Connector, if applicable.
Implementation service requirements
Verificación
Before starting the implementation service we will verify that the base software of the operating system and Frameworks are correctly installed, in addition to having access to the AVEVA installation drivers.
Technical Staff
Customer technical staff must be available to provide system access during the implementation of AVEVA PI System, security access, connection to the control system. Customer must have a valid account on the OSIsoft support website with permissions to download the required software. This account is also required to generate the license file for PI Data Archive.
Communication and access.
TCP/IP communication must be enabled and operational between all AVEVA PI System nodes and the necessary ports must be open. Data File communicates over port 5450, Asset Framework communicates over port 5457 and 5459, PI Analysis Service communicates over port 5463, PI Notifications communicates over port 5468. All this detail will be delivered to the client in the hardware and software scope.
