PERUPETRO

Talara, Peru

Implementation of PIPER’s cloud-based Operational Intelligence infrastructure for Perupetro, integrating 9 data-collection interfaces for hydrocarbon batches and delivering more than 78 visualization views for inspection process monitoring and control.

  • Implementation of PIPER Operational Suite at Perupetro

    Connectivity and data capture

    • Direct connection to equipment to obtain data from flow computers.
    • Direct connection through a multiplexer.
    • Connection through the oil contractor’s SCADA system.
    • Reading data from the oil contractor’s historians.

    Storage and security

    • Secure storage of captured data.
    • Secure communication, data persistence, and resend capability in the event of connection failures or losses.
    • Recovery of historical data from the flow computer and automatic synchronization in case of failures.

    Operational data management

    • Cloud data storage with a minimum capacity of 1 TB and expansion capability.
    • A centralized repository consolidating all relevant information recorded by the flow computer.
    • Generation of charts combining direct or calculated variables in various formats: line, scatter, pie, bar, and others.

Implementation of PIPER’s Operational Intelligence Infrastructure

  • Installation of the PIPER Operational Intelligence suite in a cloud environment: PIPER Historian, PIPER Modeler, PIPER Forms, and PIPER View.

Implementing Collection Interfaces

  • Installation of 9 interfaces for collecting operational data from different hydrocarbon batches, using the following protocols: Rocklink ROC809L, ROC800, Fisher ROC Plus Serial, Fisher ROC Plus Ethernet, FloBoss 100, OPC DA, Modbus TCP, and API REST.

Operational Model Implementation

  • Development of an operational model for managing hydrocarbon batch inspection data, performing the calculations required for the inspection process using PIPER’s analytics functions.

Visualization

  • Creation of 78 visualization views in PIPER View, with daily, biweekly, and monthly reports.
  • PDF export of views.
  • Real-time operational production monitoring dashboards.

Benefits

  • Centralized data from multiple contractors and protocols into a single infrastructure, providing one source of truth.
  • Guaranteed operational continuity during connection failures, thanks to data persistence and automatic synchronization.
  • Scalable cloud storage (starting at 1 TB, with expansion capability) without impacting system performance.
  • Reduced manual effort in consolidating inspection reports through automated calculations and reporting.
  • Improved traceability and transparency in the hydrocarbon batch inspection process, key to regulatory compliance.
  • Fast access to exportable daily, biweekly, and monthly reports, speeding up operational decision-making.
