The main goal is to install and configure a new Business Modeler interface for an existing data file. Installation is performed on-site by a qualified engineer accredited by PIPER as an PIPER OPERATIONAL INTELIGENCE SUITE System Infrastructure and Facilities Specialist.

Week 1 and 2

Request for essential software and hardware requirements for the entire infrastructure, including interfaces and Business Modeler servers.

Week 3

On-site or remote implementation, which can last from 3 hours to several days depending on the architecture and the number of selected data sources.

1. System Requirements

OS: Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS)
Hardware: Minimum 8-core CPU, 32 GB RAM, SSD storage

2. Pre-Installation Steps

Ensure all dependencies are installed (e.g., .NET, Java, Python, Node.js depending on the suite).
Set up firewall rules and network access.
Create service accounts and users.

3. Installation

Run the installer or deploy via Docker/Kubernetes if containerized.
Configure environment variables and connection strings.
Initialize the database schema and seed data.

4. Post-Installation

Test all modules (dashboard, analytics, alerts, etc.).
Set up monitoring tools and logging.
Create backup and recovery routines.

Communication of prerequisites, orders for PIPER software, hardware of acquisition node and operating systems, and hardware and software control system specific. Confirmation of installation dates with PIPER.

Week 3

Preparation required for the hardware and software required for the installation of the Business Modeler Interface.

Week 4

Installation process

1. Choose Hosting Platform

AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or private cloud.

2. Provision Resources

Virtual machines, managed databases, storage buckets.
Load balancers and autoscaling groups.

3. Deployment

Use CI/CD pipelines or manual deployment via SSH/remote desktop.
Configure DNS, SSL certificates, and access policies..

4. Integration

Connect to external data sources (IoT, ERP, MES).
Set up API gateways and authentication (OAuth, SSO).
